As this server is located in Germany we must have an imprint in german language.

But before I switch to German some public words:

• My RL nickname is Tino and I am responsible for the server on which this board runs.
  
• My Imprint is only available in German language, sorry.
  
• I currently have no major character name to present here. My NWN account is talker.
  
• This board was created for Sherian (that, of course, is not a RL name).
  
• So please thank Sherian for this service and probably The Dark Sisters, too.
  
• However, if anything is not working properly, it's my fault, so please blame me then
  
• I have no problem with disclosing my RL identity. However I will respect anybody's desire not to reveal the RL identity.
  

Please note that this thread is locked, because what follows is only legal stuff which must be satisfied and needs no amandments.

Ich bin der eingetragene Admin-C der Domain darksisters.org. Ich betreibe die Hardware, auf der dieses Forum unter www.darksisters.org läuft, als selbständiger IT-Berater für meine Kunden.

Mit Neverwinternights möchte ich Erkenntnisse über Gaming-Communities gewinnen. Da ich das derzeit in meiner spärlichen Freizeit mache, und sich alles an Gamer (vor allem Rollenspieler) richtet, sind die Inhalte vollständig nichtkommerzieller und nichtredaktioneller, also rein privater Natur.

Deshalb gilt mein zentrales privates Impressum. Ich bitte darum, Beschwerden über Inhalte usw. entsprechend der dort beschriebenen Vorgehensweise an mich zu richten. Dies ist in Deutscher und Englischer Sprache möglich.

Bitte beachten daß es um Rollenspiele geht. Besonders wenn sie wie Neverwinter Nights auf D&D aufbauen, machen Rollenspiele auf Normalbürger oft einen recht derben Eindruck. Völkermord (z. B. an Orks), Weltuntergänge (Server wipes) und Gotteslästerung (Götter erschlagen) sind hier nämlich ganz normal ..

Some additional notes, only in case you wonder:

• My part is to keep the software running and pay for the server(s). And I am the one, who is, by law, responsible for all the contents. Note that I do not take over responsibility for what others (this means you) do. However I am responsible to resolve all those law-enforcements which might show up.
  
  
• As I am "root" I am "allmighty": I have access to everything, I can change everything and I even could shut down the server any time.
  
  
• And as I am the one responsible, I have a veto for everything, for which I think that I cannot take over the legal consequences.
  
  
• However, beeing "too allmighty" is a bad thing. Consider that it might be possible that I get upset because something is not done the way I like it and then I might go berserk. Thus I decided to abstain from the Councils. This means:
  
  
• I never decide anything except what has to do with server operation and the fact that I am the one who, by law, must take over responsibility for the servers.
  
  
• Besides of this I only do supporting works, like implement the server environment, do some basic scripting or suggest things which nobody even need to take in consideration.
  
  
• I will never play a major role in the game nor will I play a character which would need any special permission to play, besides of what others want me to have.
  
  
• You will never see a zone or anything that I have designed (except for the basic login hall for now, however I think it will become redesigned completely in future). So I will not do anything that would be the taks of a Worldbuilder.
  
  
• Even when I log in as a DM I will neither do anything Storytellers do nor what Worldbuilders usually do. This usually will have to do with technical situations on the server, such like debugging design flaws or testing which others cannot do because of the lack of permissions.
  
  
• As long as I am the only one providing the server connectivity, there is no need for a Council for people like me. However if there ever such a Council will show up, I think it would be good to enforce that poeople in this Council must not be part of any other Council in parallel.
  

Well, yes, it's an experiment of me to see how this community evolves. Therefor it is important not to take over a major role except for the basic support needs of the community just to keep it running.

You perhaps may think, this is a lucky situation. However there might come a time, when I am getting bored with what I see here, I get tired getting inclined with lawyers (well, this might be) or a time, when I just run out of money

In this case I would wish to hand over the responsibility, by law and for paying, to others. All which will be left for me then, probably, will be to be the owner of the domain name, however even this can be discussed then.

I am not exactly informed about what Sherian told you or offered you, however I wanted to make sure that you don't get any headache, so here is some background about what you have to expect from me:

You have to expect plain nothing from me except for support in technical issues (for instance, I installed NWNadm for you, that's why I write the help pages, too). See me as the one who prepares the beds (and put's all those little nasty spikes in the beds in case you are not friendly ), not the one who owns the hotel.

At the time of writing following is true:

• Everything you hear from Sherian is final.
  
• What Sherian says will be supported by me.
  
• If there are issues or I have objections, I will channel this through Sherian to you.
  

And if all parties are happy with this, I don't see any need to change this ever.
